Faded Grandeur Goodordering Colour & Mood Board

Faded Grandeur Goodordering Colour & Mood Board

Take a nostalgic journey through the faded glamour of old Hong Kong, where the past lingers in unexpected places. Imagine textures you can almost smell, sounds you can reach out and touch, and objects that tell stories of another time. From ornate porcelain and intricate motifs to vintage storefronts and curious collectibles, this is a world where East meets West, and the familiar feels wonderfully surreal.

Nostalgia in unexpected colours

A rich yet understated palette of dusty pinks, faded yellows, warm browns and cool blues, layered with soft pastels and muted mid-tones. Colours collide as though brought together by chance, creating an aesthetic that feels collected rather than curated. A little eccentric, a little nostalgic, and full of faded grandeur.

Faded glamour, forgotten stories.

Collected by chance, curated by memory

I’ve created a Faded Hong Kong colour palette inspired by your mood board, combining the nostalgic shopfront greens, the beetle’s pink and turquoise, warm yellow signage and aged, weathered tones.

The palette uses eight colours in different proportions, with Pantone TCX references and suggested colour names.

Colour

Suggested proportion

Pantone reference

Warm ivory

22%

11-0105 TCX — Antique White

Weathered olive

18%

17-0620 TCX — Aloe

Dusty rose

14%

14-1511 TCX — Bridal Rose

Butter yellow

13%

12-0824 TCX — Pale Banana

Oxidised turquoise

12%

16-4529 TCX — Cyan Blue

Terracotta

9%

17-1544 TCX — Fired Brick

Muted blue-grey

7%

16-4010 TCX — Quiet Harbor

Deep bottle green

5%

19-5918 TCX — Pine Grove

How I’d use it: let the ivory, olive and dusty rose establish the vintage foundation, then use the turquoise and butter yellow as brighter accents. Terracotta and deep green bring in the old Hong Kong shopfronts and painted metal details.

One important note: these are suggested closest Pantone references, not verified exact matches to the pixels in your photographs. Pantone’s digital colour previews can differ from physical swatches, so check the physical TCX guide before using these for production.
