I have been increasingly inspired by photography recently, especially photos which capture real life scenes. Scenes that we might all find familiar and thats what makes them so appealing. Here are some of my favourite photography instagram accounts of this type, i hope you might find inspiration in them too.
Martin Parr was born in 1952. He is a British documentary photographer, photojournalist and photobook collector. He is known for his photographic projects that take an intimate, satirical and anthropological look at aspects of modern life, in particular documenting the social classes of England, and more broadly the wealth of the Western world. What i love the most about Martin Parr is the gritty realness of the photos which have humour and tragedy intertwined within them.
Max Leonard has done a kickstarter to create a book which captures the life of east london in the 80s. Its available for pre order here. The accompanying Instagram account is so addictive especially if you have lived in east london and can recognise some of the iconic locations shown in the feed.
This instagram account shows various real estate locations around mainly London and the UK that fit into the modernist style. The site is accompanied by a website where you can purchase books on walking tours of London boroughs and the modernist estates within them. This site has been really inspiring in digging deeper into the environment that surrounds us. Often, these places become invisible when you have lived in an area for a long time.
Donato di Camillo is an Italian, new york based photographer who got into photography whilst he was in prison. Now since his release he has worked on some interesting projects including "Covid-19, life and death on the streets"
which documents the grim reality of the virus on the streets of NY.
