Its been a wild first week at the Goodordering shop! Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th we moved in and by Wednesday we were running German story time and on Thursday we had our first kids hair dressing customers. Nothing like hitting the ground running!
Big thanks to Anna and Billie for lending a hand with the set up. Kathryn and Christina from Lock 7 for lending us the bike and hair chair, and a humungous thanks to Claire from Chillspace pretty much building our whole shop fit! From making our modular boxes and counter top to building our amazing square pegboard wall.
Our neighbours to the right is Cuemars selling amazing interior products and jewellery and across the road is conveniently situated a Mac repair shop. So we are in good company!
The building is full of character which we have tried to preserve, making the most of the big windows tall ceilings. From the first time that we walked into the space a few weeks ago, we imaged the shop looking exactly like this, so its pretty much a dream come true that it has all materialised.
The idea of the shop is to be a destination for Stylish Cycling Accessories. There are so many more bicycle commuters around these days and what people really need to complete their outfits are useful, cool and well designed accessories. We will be stocking a range of them including our bags of course, carbon fibre helmets by our friends at Dashel.cc. These helmets are serious business and will last a lifetime of compliments and cycling adventures.
5 Reasons we decided to open a shop
1) To get people out and about off their computers and onto their local streets
2) To have an office where we are work from and sell our bags first hand ourselves
3) To help build up the small business cycling community in east london that we are so proud to be a part of.
4) To have a place where our customers can come and try on bags before buying them, and a place where people can see the full range of bags in one place.
5) Because we can communicate our full Goodordering brand story in our shop, play our 80s music, display our favourite things and design inspiration all in one place. East London, the birth place of Goodordering
Swifty Scooters have also got a presence here at the shop. They make the most amazing premium scooters with pneumatic tyres. If you have a kid between the ages of 7 -10 or even above, they will be able to build up some serious speed and have some epic adventures on one of these!
We have some nice local art on the wall with this piece by Kelly Anna London called Columbia Road Girls. We love this powerful piece featuring our very own local Columbia Road which is right across the road from our store.
Kids haircuts are taking place here every Thursday at the moment, we want to add more dates so please book your place here! https://goodordering.com/pages/kids-haircut Parents can hang out with us in the shop and have a free glass of Prosecco or a coffee.
Thanks to Rhona and Andrea the Goodordering team for making all of this happen and everyone else who has helped get the shop looking the way it is in such a short amount of time. Watch this space for the constantly evolving look of the space!
